Vox Machina’s plans literally give me heart palpitations. Lets go into the tunnel, whilst holding back the entire lake, with minutes to spare, and then try and barricade ourselves at the bottom of a lake under water at the top of a staircase which leaves who knows where. With a hastily constructed wall of mud and stone that does LITERALLY NOTHING to hold back the water that is about to drown them.

The way the people are being inspired and reassured by it is really, truly wonderful

“Scanlan, to his embarrassment, is not third but fourth to figure it out. He learns this when he mentions it to Pike one day, whilst they’re hiking through the countryside. “Have you ever noticed that Vax reacts rather powerfully to physical touch? Not sexually, though I suppose he might. But contact from his friends seems to settle him like a drug.” Pike raises an eyebrow at him, and gods help him but she’s as beautiful as she was the day he met her.

“Well, yes. Hadn’t you?” She asks the question politely, but Scanlan knows her well enough to know that this is Pike’s gentle way of wondering how it had took him so long. He smirks to hide his discomfort.”

(So, this turned out to be quite more of a challenge than I anticipated, since the first few ideas that I came up with, which I LOVED, all had some pretty potent Vox Machina spoilers for you, since you’re still in the Whitestone arc)

Keep the Home Fires Burning-

Vasselheim is a beautiful city. It’s sparse, and austere, but it’s impossible to deny the grandeur of the cradle of civilization. The fact that Sarenrae has a temple within its hallowed walls should be a mark of unparalleled pride.

Pike hates it. She hates being stuck behind to tend to her duty as a cleric, when her duty as a friend demands she be by Vox Machina’s side. Every night that she goes to sleep in her temple, she knows her friends are waking up to another day without her.

It gets even worse when she starts seeing them in her dreams, dark dreams full of violence and danger and smoke.

She calls out to Sarenrae, looking for an explanation from the Goddess that she has, until now, followed without question. She does not expect an answer from the Everlight. She does not expect intervention either.

She gets both.
