Without thinking, Midoriya reaches forward and brushes the heavy curtain of hair back. The scarred flesh around Todoroki’s eye, shiny with moisture, comes into view. Midoriya can see for the first time where the mottled and ridged skin ends, stretching almost to Todoroki’s hairline and across her cheek. Todoroki freezes in place as both grey and blue eyes widen. Then she presses her lips into a bloodless thin line and her eyes dart to the ground.
