I am 100 percent convinced that Ezekiel acts dumber than he really is. It’s easier to push people away when they think you’re one dimensional and easier to escape if someone underestimates you.
Dark librarians: where’s the fix-it fic for Ezekiel realising he doesn’t have to forgive his abusive mother in order to be ‘grateful’ to her for adopting him and forcing him to steal things for her.
