cupid: have you ever been set up? have you ever set anyone else up? how did it go?

I kinda set up two of my best friends actually. They both separately told me they had a crush on each other, and I tried not to interfere too much, mostly just encouraging them and occasionally orchestrating ‘group hangs’ where the rest of us would be mysteriously busy….They’ve been together 5 yrs and they’re pretty happy, it’s awesome

As for me, I don’t think so! I mean, maybe? But I don’t think so. I am more likely to accidentally date people than be set up

Literally anything sweet. Strawberries, ice cream, chocolate, candy floss. Gimme all the sugar. I have a sweet tooth a mile long and I’m not afraid to use it

BAKUGOU KATSUKI

  • First impression
    • Dude is a bully, and I don’t like bullies
  • Impression now
    • He’s an insecure kid who’s trying his best. Spiky on the outside, soft on the inside. Doesn’t know how to handle his temper, but wants to use his powers for good. Not a bad person at all.
  • Favorite moment
    • Manga, post chapter 96. Uh, I’m worried about spoilers, but after bakugou makes a Discovery and then how he handles that discovery.
  • Idea for a story
    • Tricky! I like Bakugou but he’s normally a secondary character for me. Hmmmm. Oh hahaha yes Pacific Rim AU in which he is a cocky jaeger pilot who thinks he’s hot shit. Bonus tragic backstory points is this led to his co-pilot getting killed (possibly Kaminari? I’m sorry pikachu I love you). So the story can be about him going from loud and cocky to grim and ‘get-the-job-done’ mentality, and then about him meeting someone (I’m saying Kirishima cos I really love that ship) and learning to trust again, basically – in particular to trust in the strength of his co-pilot. Plus, you know, he gets to punch monsters, who doesn’t love that.
  • Unpopular opinion
    • I feel strongly about abuse, but I’m not yet convinced that Bakugou’s mother is abusive. I see why people make that argument, but unfortunately I’m just not sure Horikoshi considers that behaviour to be abusive. It’s not that I don’t have sympathy, I do, I’m just not sure it’s canon. It’s also…I find it a bit difficult to get my head around a kid who’s pretty spoilt, gets everything he wants and feels like there’s no consequences (arguably part of what messes bakugou up in the first place) with a kid who’s scared of being reprimanded in the way abused kids are. I think for me it comes down to: bakugou isn’t scared of his mother. Even kids who take abuse and become rebellious/loud everywhere but at home normally find it hard to be like that at home. I don’t know. I’m sorry, but I’m not sold.
  • Favorite relationship
    • His bromance/romance with Kirishima Eijirou. Just, my god. But also his relationship with the whole Bakusquad: Mina, Kaminari and Sero.
  • Favorite headcanon
    • Bakugou is a nerd and a hobbyist, who’s brilliant at a wide range of crafts which includes sewing and baking. Because gender roles are for punks, sewing makes him better at stitches, and anyone who doesn’t know how to cook is an idiot.

    • Love at first sight. This loud, smiling, excitable owl? I love him. Also, he’s a Hufflepuff.
  • Impression now
    • Still a Hufflepuff, but also hidden depths. I definitely accept @silvercistern‘s headcanon that he has Bipolar. I also like how he is super soft but also kind of wild and a little dangerous. I mean honestly just basically the way Essie writes him is how I think of him.
  • Favorite moment
    • When he teaches Hinata a new kind of spike because he’s just that excited about volleyball
  • Idea for a story
    • So, I have been working on this on and off for about two years, but basically a demigods au where bokuto is son of apollo and kuroo is son of hermes and they live together as rebels without a cause. shenanigans ensue, but i don’t wanna give too much away in case this is the year i finally write it
  • Unpopular opinion
    • I think Bokuto is clever, specifically at maths. Not because in order to like a character I need him to be clever, but because I sincerely think that intelligence manifests in different ways. I don’t know how much of an unpopular opinion this is, but there it is.
  • Favorite relationship
    • BOKUAKA OWNS MY LIFE. Followed closely by past Bokuroo/ Bokuto and Kuroo’s friendship
  • Favorite headcanon
    • So many, but I think Bokuto having bipolar. It fits.

    • When, after willingly submitting to zone of truth, he calls Angus “precious” – and about a thousand others
  • Idea for a story
    • A witch hunter AU set in Ravensroost where everyone outside Governor Calen’s chosen religion/paladins gets hunted down. Taako, Lup and Barry get caught whilst investigating magical anomalies in the area. Taako escapes and gets taken in by Rebel!Magnus and Julia, who are sheltering Merle and helping people escape. Chaos ensues.
  • Unpopular opinion
    • I…honestly can’t think of any? Mm, I don’t ship him with Magnus?
  • Favorite relationship
    • Taako’s relationship with his sister, Lup, is goddang brilliant. I also love his friendship with tres horny boys. His paternal relationship towards Angus. And obviously his relationship with Kravitz.
  • Favorite headcanon
    • This is dark, but Taako and Sazed used to date, and Sazed was abusive. And possibly Taako and Lup’s parents were abusive, hence their running away and having commitment issues. The bright side is that I think the IPRE taught them how to trust again.

3: How do you think Midoriya’s conflict with Bakugou will end?

Good question! Ultimately, I think they’ll reconcile. I think this’ll be difficult for both of them but especially Bakugou, since i imagine a big part of it is going to be him having to learn how to be humble and accept his own shortcomings. I think once they get there though, they’ll push each other to become greater and greater. I doubt Bakugou’s personality is going to change significantly, and I don’t think it should! But I think we’ll see a move from outright hostility to begrudging/surly friendship and respect. I think we’re already going in that direction, honestly, and it’s a good thing.
