oh man vax having nightmares about gilmore stabbing him and not being able to sleep. like i’m assuming this is a curse? but that’s still heartbreaking

listen, listen, listen. the rakshasa coming to vax in the night as gilmore after it read his mind and knew he would follow him without question in this form followed by the rakshasa telling vax he’d hurt him and vax immediately suspecting it wasn’t gilmore followed by the rakshasa, as gilmore, stabbing vax and nearly killing him followed by scanlan motherfucking shorthalt jumping off a balcony with a sword and saving vax’s life followed by pike trickfoot naked obliterating that monster in holy fire followed by keyleth seeing gilmore holding a would-be assasin several feet off the ground with arcane power and then obliterating said assassin for saying something that made him angry followed by keyleth telling gilmore what happened and gilmore, not knowing whether vax was alive or if the rakshasa had been defeated immediately teleporting them both to vax’s side followed by a surprised and relieved gilmore being confronted with a naked vax, followed by vax asking him to recall the moment he broke gilmore’s heart in order to be sure it was still him, followed by gilmore hugging vax then hesitating and apologising for the fact that the rakshasa wore his face followed by vax quietly, fervently telling him he didn’t need to be sorry

FOLLOWED BY vax asking gilmore to assess his armour, and gilmore asking him to go with him, and then panicking and assuring him that he is himself, followed by gilmore asking whether vax trusts him and after everything vax saying yes and then gilmore pushing vax off a fucking cliff and then vax growing wings and flying and laughing and picking gilmore up off said cliff and calling him a brilliant bastard

FOLLOWED BY vax hugging gilmore and gilmore hesitating because he doesn’t know where their boundaries are but eventually hugging back at which point vax’s wings fold around them both as they embrace followed by vax seeing tears on gilmore’s cheeks when they part and assuring him that he is his friend and ally, and gilmore saying the same

hahahaha i think my favourite part of liveblogging the whole of vox machina has been everyone’s reactions to me thinking that was really gilmore and not the rakshasa
