I really love the fact that as much as Vax is still nervous around Grog, Grog is now making an active effort to make sure he doesn’t actually get hurt

Case in point: Grog sees a great big pit opening up ahead of them. He tells Vax to go ahead carefully, and Vax does. The second Vax actually might fall, Grog panics, “No don’t fucking fall you idiot there’s a fucking chasm!”

Vax bitches but still, they’re growing!

Grog: Hey Sneaky-Sneaky can you go and take a look?
Vax: Are you talking to me or her?
Grog: I’m talking to you, you fuck
Vex: We’re not doing anything to help you, you left us
Vax: *walks away whilst they’re arguing*
Vax: *rolls a natural 20 on stealth*

Vox Machina’s plans literally give me heart palpitations. Lets go into the tunnel, whilst holding back the entire lake, with minutes to spare, and then try and barricade ourselves at the bottom of a lake under water at the top of a staircase which leaves who knows where. With a hastily constructed wall of mud and stone that does LITERALLY NOTHING to hold back the water that is about to drown them.

Vex starts sinking into the mud, Vax tries to help her, BOTH of them get stuck. Trinket and Percy both try and fail to pull them out. Grog is watching aaaand not helping.

Zahra calls Grog over to help them clear the entrance, and Grog literally just leaves them. Kima sees them and says they’re fine

Finally, finally Scanlan casts Bigby’s hand and lifts them out of the mud.

Vax: We’re a bit of an awkward family, but we are trying
Percy: And I apologise for any of the mistakes I’ve made, and honestly any of the mistakes I’m likely to make, but I am starting to imagine a better version of myself. I’m not quite sure who that is yet, but there is a destiny, I think, for us all together
Vax: This all a lot bigger than us individually now
Percy: We’ve been given mighty deeds to accomplish. We will rise. Or if we fail, no one will ever know (laughs)
Vax, laughing a little: There’s comfort in that. All right, I’ve said my piece

Percy: It’s good to want things. It’s very, very good to want things. It’s also very, very good to have things. It’s good to – it’s good to find the things that are important to you and move towards them. I’m in a place where I’m realizing that I have to make decisions about what’s important, and I’m a little envious that you seem to be ahead of the curve on that
Vax: I wish I felt that way
Percy: I know
Vax: Well, I started talking to you. I just – I’m sorry if I’ve done anything to offend you
Percy: Never
