Present Mic headcanon (alternatively called Hizashi Yamada is actually really cool)
• Mic has a variety of different uses for his quirk
• He can mimic sounds and voices (including fog horns and Eraser almost murdered him that one time)
• I strongly headcannon that apart from light sensitivity, Mic covers his eyes because his voice can have a siren like affect on those looking into his eyes and hearing him speak at the same time
• This secondary effect was discovered by his mothers after one too many times of people just suddenly not being very responsive while talking to him and making eye contact
• It makes them fall into an almost trancelike/hallucinogenic state
• Like seriously his eyes could be almost hypnotizing
• Mic knows krav maga or boxing (krav maga is practical and makes getting in and out of situations eh priority)
• His teachers made him learn hand to hand combat as soon as they realized that he was completely reliant on his quirk
• It would be the dumbest thing in the world to let kids graduate from hero course without close combat training
• Yamada is a polygot (when Shouta heard him helping a tourist in French he nearly died)
• Hizashi is smart but since he’s loud and happy all the time and acts like a human version of a Labrador people assume he’s kinda dumb
• He’s super interested in anything and everything
• Hizashis mom is american and is tall as heck
• His other mom is normal sized and he thinks its super cute to see his mom bend down to kiss his other mom
• His american mom is deaf
• Mic was terrified of using an aspect to his quirk he called “bass” because it produced such a concussive force (they’re similar to overpressure or shock waves) it literally split a tree and he was scared of what it would to a person (i.e liquify their organs) until second year of UA

I think I made a loose outline – I had a rough idea of what was going to happen when and I knew what order I wanted things. But mostly with that one I just wrote freely – it was my first Tododeku fic and I didn’t originally intend to publish it! I just wanted to see how fun it would be to write a story about the characters. And it was really fun, and I was kind of proud of it, so here we are
Man, that whole fic was ridiculously fun to write, honestly. I enjoyed a lot of the scenes, because I was pretty self-indulgent and kind of wrote whatever would make me happy…
That said, I think there were three scenes that I was absurdly excited to write about – which were the one in Chapter 11 where Shouto and Izuku have a conversation on the frozen lake about Shouto’s life, Chapter 13 – where Tsuyu shows Uraraka her lake (fun fact, I still have a draft of the NSFW uh, completion of that scene – it’s not all NSFW! Some it is actually cool naiad stuff), and chapter 14 – at the fairy party where Jirou and Momo finally, finally get together. (There is also an NSFW end of that scene)
It’s an AU where Shouto becomes a vigilante and it was cheesy and self indulgent and just warm. It was really cathartic to write, and I made myself laugh. I still like to imagine those two iterations of the boys as adults, living happy, peaceful lives.
Aaaaaaah thank you so, so much! Writing a deuteragonist was definitely the hardest and most challenging part from my point of view, so I’m really glad that worked. And I’m very, very happy you liked Izuku! I love him so dearly.
