hells yeah thank you so much!!! So I’m assuming this is for the headcanon thing from this post

Lets get started!!

Headcanon A: what I think realistically

I’m just gonna pick random things, I hope you don’t mind.

First: I think All Might is probably at least aware that he’s not a fantastic teacher, and probably doesn’t favour Deku as much as we see him do in canon, since at some point someone would probably point that out. Like it makes sense story wise that things are Deku-centric, but within the world I don’t think (I hope) it’s not quite as obvious. Also Deku would be in even greater danger if it was that obvious, so yeah, I feel like he’s probably more subtle.

Second: realistically I think All Might knows that he’s a bit of a heartthrob, and either is Ace and Aro (kinda my personal preferred hc), or else made a decision not to get into relationships.

Headcanon B: what I think is fucking hilarious

First: All Might is not aware that he’s a terrible teacher, or that it’s painfully obvious that he favours Deku over the rest of his students. Why is this funny? Well, in my head, it leads to every goddamn member of the UA Faculty trying to clean up his messes. Like, oh, everyone just sat down for an english exam but got handed maths papers? Goddamn it Toshinori. There’s a clip on local news of All Might having lunch with a high school student? Goddamn it Toshinori.

Second: All Might has no idea that he’s a heartthrob, despite his larger than life screen presence. He’s emphatically not interested in romantic/sexual relationships, and he accidentally leaves a trail of broken hearts wherever he goes because he’s just polite. If you’ve seen Brooklyn 99, I’m thinking of when Terry broke up with someone but it looked like a proposal. All Might helps you carry your shopping the whole way home, tells you he thinks you’re pretty and accomplished, and then literally disappears. There’s a betting pool in the staff room on if/when he’ll actually notice.

C: what is heart-crushing and awful but fun to inflict on friends

Oh hey it’s my favourite!!

First: All Might knows that he’s painfully obvious about favouring Deku, but he is actively terrified Deku is going to get himself killed. All Might deliberately spends as much time with Deku as possible because a) he knows his own life is short and b) after losing Nana, All Might gets severely anxious when he doesn’t have Deku within his line of sight. This gets several orders of magnitude worse when he loses his second form. Kinda ditto re: being a bad teacher. All Might wants to focus on the admin, he really does, but he can’t stop thinking about the horrors and fear that these teenagers are going to be facing, and how he’s actively enabling that, and he veers between wanting them to be prepared and keeping them away from it. He has yet to have the Conversation that all the UA faculty have had about this personal conflict, but Aizawa is ready to sit him down and talk it out soon.

Second: All Might is aware of the heartthrob thing and severely uncomfortable with it. A) It only adds to the already immense pressure on him to perform/be the symbol of hope. B) He couldn’t keep a partner safe even if he wanted to ~~(Nighteye)~~ C) He’s dying, he doesn’t want to bring anyone else into that. D) Hero society is a whole lot more progressive than it was when Toshi was a teenager, but the idea of a queer-platonic relationship is alien to him. He does want companionship, just not romantic or sexual, and as of right now, he’s resigned to living the rest of his life alone, despite everything he’s done for everyone around him. (Of course, he often forgets the people he already has: Naomasa, Aizawa, etc)

option D: what would never work with canon but the canon is shit so I believe it anyway

All Might is asexual! Well, he is in my head. Also, All Might notices that Todoroki Enji is a flaming douchebag and has a conversation with him and quietly removes him from Shouto’s life and gets Shouto to a safe place.

Northern Lights Tell us about some real life magic.

It’s so hard not to say the Northern Lights, because they are pretty wonderful. I’ll tell you instead: once upon a time, I lived between the UK and Hong Kong. I was very, very close to my grandad – my mother’s father. He died of a brain tumour, and I’d gone back to Hong Kong for a while. I came back to England, and I was on an early morning bus from Heathrow airport, heading back to uni. I was listening to music, half-asleep. Through the whole time my granddad had been sick, we’d kept coming back to this song that means a lot to my mum. ‘Wish You Were Here’ by Pink Floyd. One night, when my parents and I were in Hong Kong, a couple months before my grandad died, we were on the phone to him in England during a monsoon. Normally you shut the blinds to protect the windows, but we’d had a bit to drink and I don’t know, it felt like there was lightning in the air. That song came on, and my mum put my grandad on speaker, and we opened the windows to this howling storm and just, kind of shared that.

So here I am, several months later, jetlagged and alone on a bus on the motorway at about 5am, listening to music. My grandad had passed away. And that song comes on, the first couple notes. And as it does, I swear, clear as day, in a little wood off the side of the road, I saw a white hart. Absolutely white, from head to toe. It was standing in the woods and staring at the road. I have no idea how familiar you are with folklore: but normally white harts and stags, especially in British folklore, are really magical creatures. They’re the kind of thing the knights of the round table go looking for, and I don’t know how common albinism, or even deer are around east anglia. I could have been dreaming. But the coincidence of that song, and that hart, in that moment? It felt like magic to me.

Rightio. I’ve made this public just in case anyone else is wondering this.

Cr2 is my tag for the second campaign of Critical Role. Critical Role is a webseries hosted by Geek and Sundry on Twitch (also available on Youtube) where a bunch of nerdy ass voice actors get together to play Dungeons and Dragons.

These voice actors are all medium to pretty famous: you’ve got the dude who plays Roy Mustang in Fullmetal Alchemist (Travis Willingham), the dude who voices McCree in Overwatch (Matthew Mercer), the dude who plays Gaara in Naruto (Liam O’Brien) and the lady who’s probably most famous of the bunch, Ashley Johnson

They also know a lot about D&D, in particular Matthew Mercer, who’s very good friends with Matthew Colville, and who has written bonus material for actual D&D (including a whole new class he was commissioned to create by Vin Diesel – yes, really)

The first campaign – the story of Vox Machina, was a tale about a group of adventurers that went on for just over 100 3-4hr long episodes (!)

People like me who want to catch up on it now typically do a combination of reading the awesome episode summaries on the fandom wiki, the transcripts available on tumblr, and watching episodes you think sound really good on Geek and Sundry’s Youtube Campaign 1 playlist.

(It’s worth knowing: Vox Machina as a group played for 2 years at home for fun before it was streamed, so they start off at level 9. You’ve got: Vax and Vex (half-elf rogue and ranger respectively – twins), Keyleth (elven druid), Grog (barbarian goliath), Scanlan (gnome bard), Pike (gnome cleric), Percy (human gunslinger – carried over from Pathfinder) and Tiberius (dragonborn sorcerer.) Their tale was set in Exandria, it is amazing and now finished.)

Which leads me to Campaign 2! Campaign 2 started six weeks ago and is much, much easier to catch up on. The gang have started at level two, so we get to see them make friends and reveal their backstory etc. It’s also exciting since, if you missed the first year of Vox Machina, it was nearly impossible to catch up on. Personally I’m pretty thrilled to finally be able to get on board.

Campaign 2 centres around a motley crew of people who I’m pretty sure are gonna overthrow the empire. They are Jester (a tiefling cleric), Mollymauk (tiefling bloodhunter), Caleb (human wizard), Fjord (half-orc warlock), Nott (goblin rogue), Beauregard (human monk) and Yasha (Aasimar Barbarian).

Fun bonus is that the series has lots of queer representation! Including canon bisexual and non-binary characters, which makes me happy.

New episodes come out Thursdays at around 7pm Pacific Standard Time. They range between 3 and 4hrs long, so I normally watch ‘em while doing chores/admin.

You can watch them live for free, and if you subscribe to Geek and Sundry’s channel on Twitch (about $7 a month) you can watch episodes as soon as they’re out. (You also get a free twitch channel subscription if you have Amazon prime.)

If you’d rather not spend the money – totally legit – then episodes are posted for free on Geek and Sundry’s youtube channel on Mondays, they appear in the Critical Role Campaign 2 playlist.

Technically Critical Role is also a podcast, with episodes being released a week after they stream. However, 3-4hrs is a very long podcast and at least for the first campaign, the sound quality wasn’t awesome. It’s pretty hard to listen to, so I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it.

It’s also worth knowing that on Tuesdays there’s Talks Machina – in which members of the show respond to fan questions, discuss the most recent episodes, air theories, hug each other, and talk about kissing people. It’s very fun, and is available on Geek and Sundry’s Twitch Channel.

ooooooof. hmmmm. I’m open to most things, and I try not to get as hung up on like a certain ideal relationship any more. it’s not really my thing, I guess? i also think that kinda leads to a whole lotta heartache, though it can be hard to avoid sometimes.

i guess at first I thought I just wanted a bunch of casual one night stands and stuff

I think mostly though I do wanna meet someone, or some people, to chill out with – platonically and romantically as well as sexually. Mostly I want cuddles. I really love physical touch and I’m feeling its absence right now. So someone, or some people, to have late night conversations with and cuddle, I guess. Someone or some people to be soft with.
