This is the same anon who sent that prompt ask: do you know of any LGBT women of color I can follow? I just don’t see anyone in the media who I can relate to. I’m not out yet, so seeing representation in the media would mean so much to me.

Hey there!

Of course, that makes sense. Ok, I’ve done some searching on your behalf ❤

So first off, I’d suggest following the: #blackqwoc and #wlwoc tags, as well as possibly the #qtipoc tag. They’ll be a good way to find more people in general.

For general blogs, there’s:  @wlwoclove @wlwocsource @wlwoc-aesthetics @wlwocpoetrynet @closetedwlwocopinions and @qwoclqwoc

For individuals: @ai-yo @blackkandgayy @lunafromtcp @shessiddity @urtastie and @friesxo all seem pretty great

I know before you said you were a young person, so just watch out for NSFW content if you don’t want to see it, and make sure to use your filters!

In fiction: The Bold Type and Black Lightning are awesome shows for qwoc rep. In comics, check out Motorcrush, Black Panther (two of the Dora Milaje are in love!) and Young Avengers, as well as The Wicked and the Divine and Saga. In podcasts, Alice Isn’t Dead and Within the Wires are both dramas about qwoc, performed and written by qwoc.

If you want to follow qwoc celebrities – Janelle Monae recently came out, and is doing some pretty awesome stuff! Tessa Thompson is out and proud, Azealia Banks is Bi, Lena Waithe is an amazing writer, producer and actress currently in a relationship with Alana Mayo, and of course Samira Wiley is happily married to Lauren Morrelli. Plus, if you’d like to see more trans women, always check out Laverne Cox – and Janet Mock is pretty damn cool too.

Best of luck on your journeys ❤

Ooh for the ask game: 🍀and 🌠? HAPPY PRIDE! :D

Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAPPY PRIDE!!!!!!! From this post!

🍀 – what’s your fav thing abt being lgbt?

Honestly? Everyone is SO pretty and SO wonderful. I am ridiculously grateful that I don’t have to or want to think about gender when it comes to attraction. I’m just sort of endlessly surrounded by people who I think are brilliant, and that’s pretty magical.

🌠 – advice for young lgbt people?

Find other lgbt+ people!!! Seek out safe, trusting environments. I went to an LGBT+ youth support group: it really helped me figure out who I was and feel comfortable with that. LGBT+ charities EXIST to help you as a young person figure out who you are safely and without judgement. If you’re not out to your friends or family? That’s ok too! Tell the workers. They know what that means and how it feels, they’ll help you be discrete. I was at boarding school, and my group told my school they were a mental health charity so that I didn’t have to come out before I was ready. Workers will give you advice on how to be safe with family, and with any predatory individuals. You get free sex ed that actually applies to you, and just generally meet a bunch of cool people.

My other piece of advice would be: seek out LGBT+ media. There is nothing quite as wonderful as seeing people like you being heroes, being happy, and being in love. Read books, read comics, watch TV and movies. You’re on tumblr, so you probably know Steven Universe, and Brooklyn 99, watch Sense8, watch Yuri on Ice, read ‘Why Be Happy When You Could Be Normal’ and ‘Oranges are Not the Only Fruit’. Read ‘Trans Like Me’ by CN Lester. Read The Wicked and the Divine, and DC’s Bombshells series (all the queer ladies). Find representations of yourself that you like and feel comfortable with. Don’t be afraid to question things, don’t be afraid to ask for more, or better, or different.

You’re made of stardust, kid. You deserve the world.

3, 8, and 10 for Little Monster?

anything for you my dear ❤ from this post!

3. Which part of [title] was hardest to write?

Definitely Nott getting beaten up by the guards. That was brutal. And even though it felt necessary for the story, it still hurt to write.

8. Which came first, the title or the fic?

The title! I was kind of thinking about slurs and reclaiming slurs and stuff, and I started thinking about how Nott might feel about being called a monster/the term of affection that is ‘little monster’

10. What are some facts readers may not know about [title]?

Since I wrote it before we got Caleb’s backstory (welp) I had the headcanon that Caleb had lost his loved ones in a fire started by the Empire’s armies. They’re the Helene, Mathilda and Luisa. I soooort of headcanoned Caleb as bi in that – with Helene as his wife. But now I think I lean more towards gay for Caleb.

Also, we know what happened with the backstory…

thank you for the ask!

3 for Witches and Warriors & Save The Last Dance? Have a nice day.

Hey you! Thank you very much for the ask – I hope you also have a nice day! (From this post!)

3. Which part of [title] was hardest to write?

Witches and Warriors – it was definitely the assault scene. I’d kind of briefly sketched out an idea for myself of who Loki was in this AU, and even though I knew it’d be interrupted, it was horrible to hurt him like that. Despite how cathartic it can be to write, I often find it very difficult.

Save the Last Dance – I think it was chapter 2? In general I found the start of the story kind of difficult to write. Because it needed to start in Silvia, but the story was going to happen in the forest, so I wanted them to get there as soon as possible. I did enjoy writing Ochako and Izuku’s conversation though – and Izuku having dinner with Inko. I wanted to make sure to keep those.

Thank you for the ask!

5. Did you make an outline for ‘a rose by any other name’? Did you stick to it? Also I really loved that fic! Tododeku is such a cute relationship I love my babies and you def do them justice.

Awww man thank you so much for asking questions about this! From this post!

I think I made a loose outline – I had a rough idea of what was going to happen when and I knew what order I wanted things. But mostly with that one I just wrote freely – it was my first Tododeku fic and I didn’t originally intend to publish it! I just wanted to see how fun it would be to write a story about the characters. And it was really fun, and I was kind of proud of it, so here we are

I’m really, really glad you enjoyed it 😀
