I really like the idea of Aziraphale’s character development over his existence being “Earth belongs to God and I’m an angel so it’s my job to protect it” > “Earth belongs to God and I just live here, I don’t have any particular duty to anything” > “Earth may belong to God in an abstract sense but since I’m the one who lives here it belongs to me in a more immediate sense and therefore I want to protect it”
Like… where’s that quote about witches from that other Terry Pratchet book…
That’s what I want for Aziraphale and Crowley to be like in another thousand years. The events of Good Omens are absolutely a selfish and personal decision for them and I feel like that’s exactly the point.
